Velux 5 Oceans

For the first time ever, Charleston Harbor Fest will coincide with the restart of the VELUX 5 OCEANS, one of the most exciting and challenging around-the-world-solo sailing races.  As a port city for race, Charleston will host skippers from four countries during their stopover from Uruguay in route to the finish line in France. 

With your festival weekend pass, you can tour the ultra-fast ECO 60 fleet and watch the re-start of the race on Saturday, May 14th.  Join us in giving a special send off to the current first place skipper, Charleston’s own Brad van Liew, as he becomes the first American to sail around the world solo three times.
